Eager beaver

I was seriously considering a nice lengthy post for today. That is until I woke up. No, I did not drink myself into oblivion, nor did I suffer any sort of hangover type phenomenon. It's just been one of those semi-stormy days best enjoyed surrounded by books, a good quilt, a couple gallons of tea and perhaps even a modest fire in the fireplace grate.

Besides, I had gently deluded myself as to how time intensive the year end book-keeping chores were going to be. Very mind-less, but time consuming.

So instead, I hope an event from today might suffice for entertainment value.

The doors opened quickly and two people bustled into the store. A woman was in the lead and walking so fast she kept edging into a trot before holding herself back only to start trying to accelerate once more into a trot. The man was also moving rapidly, gamely following in her wake. They hustled into the arcade, with the woman exhorting him hurry.

I would characterize myself at this juncture to be markedly dubious, not that my heart isn't brimming to overflowing with trust and faith in my fellow man.

About a step away from the booth the woman has slipped into, the man makes a sudden U-turn and hastens toward the counter. He required a little more change than he had currently available. Still skeptical, I provided him with small bills. He rabbits back to the booth his companion was waiting in. The movie clicked on before the door was even closed.

Perhaps two minutes elapse before the sound of a body pressed against a wall, moans, and the surprisingly distinctive smack of bodies impacting was easily discerned from that room.

Well, I'll be damned, she wasn't in a frenzy to get her next dose of crank or crack. I can deal with folks rabidly anticipating a quickie.

Their shy smiles as they filed out of the store later, still adjusting their clothing, was even somewhat cheering for me.

Anyway, happy bloody new year.

Never a dull moment, eh?

Having frequented the local adult shoppe a few times, I have established a repoire with the counter help. No, as I had figured, it is not you. I will just have to visit more "adult novelty shoppes" I guess.

Happy New Year! This year I resolve to blog at least once.
