Short on patience.

Just as all faith in someone melts away at the utterance of, "Trust me," a group of people asking if the store carries midget porn fills me with dubiousness as to their purpose in my store.

Yes, such a genre is produced. Yes, we do carry it. However, it seems like the porn of choice to point and giggle at is midget porn. And it pisses me off in no time flat. It's bad enough that most of the marketing for the films tends to cast them in a ridiculous light, I don't need people coming in to bust a gut looking at the pictures on the box.

I guarantee that there's at least one fetish out there that will not float your boat, if not disturb you. I guarantee there's also a solid core of patrons for that fetish. I have to assume that anyone in my store is of the latter type.

It's not that I'm especially caught up on the "little people getting all raunchy on film" thing. It's just the most common target in my experience. It really gets on my nerves that people think that an adult video store is an acceptible place to pick on what gets people hot and bothered.

Crimeny, it's no wonder this country is so sexually repressed. Mention anything even remotely outre and you're risking getting teased mercilessly for the rest of your life.

I think alot of us have grown up with a pretty confused dichotomy inside our heads about what is "right" and "wrong" when it comes to sex.

One of the things that really used to disturb me when my boyfriend and I started dating was that he LOVES to play the phreak. He'll talk about dirty, dirty sex, and how much he loves it.

It took me a while to figure out why that bothered me so. I know it is largely due to my religious upbringing, and the innate need I have inside to be seen as a "good girl."

I still struggle with it. The first time I went into an adult store, I freaked out and had to leave. It was just too graphic...too much for me to handle.

I'm not a huge fan of porn even now, but my views on sex have gradually changed. But, it's still a struggle at times, sexual repression is so normal in our society.

Trouble- That's perfectly understandible. An adult store *is* pretty graphic. I, and my staff, do our best to set folks at ease, but it's still a huge aspect. It just gets to me that sex, which is about as normal as it gets for adults, has to be turned into some variety of trauma for folks.

Merripan- Yes, sometimes they will select the pregnant vids. Sometimes they go for the BBW vids. Most of the time, they still gravitate to the dwarfism. Interesting to note that BBW vids at our store have a pretty good fan base. Anymore when someone asks for a movie with heavier women, they're actually looking to rent or buy.
