A guy reaches the counter to make a six dollar purchase. He pays with a twenty.
Then he inquires as to whether he could get some of his change back in ones.
Was he wanting more than the four he was already going to recieve? No. Simple math was simply outside his ken.

umm...wouldn't he have been getting back 14 ones on a 6 dollar purchase?
He could, if he had wanted that many ones. He could even have gotten a five and nine ones. He just wanted to make sure he got some ones as change.
