Give me a damn break!

It is such an absolute joy some times dealing with people.

A lady entered the store the other day who had been 86ed. Remember what I said about the banished feeling an irresistible urge to return to the store? Yeah, I swear it's like some odd newly discovered natural law. Anyway, this lady was promptly reminded she was not allowed in the store. She turned around and left. Alrighty, this is no problem. Sometimes they just need that reminder.

This was sadly not to be.

Indeed she entered back into the store to vent her indignation and wrath. She yelled at length about how she had the right to patronize this store by virtue of living in this neighborhood. She carried on that we had no right to exclude her as she made her living as a hooker and as such needed places to take her johns. We had no right to infringe on her livelihood.

It astounds me how some individuals will think that any place open to the public is in fact public domain. I really love how she thinks where she lives has any bearing upon what stores she is able to enter. "Yeah, I live next to a Victoria Secret, so I, like, to go on safari in the fitting rooms. Dude, it's totally legal cause I live so close." Right. Maybe she should set down the crack pipe once in a while.

Oh and heavens forefend we should do anything that hinders her ability to conduct her right to engage in ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES. How could we be so blind as to persecute her for breaking the law? What vile, inhuman monsters we are.

But then, as she wound down she informed us, "If you respect me, I'll respect you." Offered her hand to shake. Walked out the door quietly.

Moments later, someone is hitting the front windows hard as they go by. A co-worker was almost to them when the unmistakable sound of breaking glass caught the ear.

You got it. That paragon of feminine charm was running flat-out through traffic away from the window she had shattered.

So much for "respect."
