Animated adventures.
Since the store opened, people have come in looking for anime sex. It's actually somewhat startling. Cartoon porn has a very staunch support base in this city.
I have no idea why.
I have sampled a variety of the titles we have in stock. I have checked out anime titles from other stores. The offerings don't vary much. My private theory is that one studio has "assembly-lined" about a twenty-four hours worth of footage. Everything put onto the market dips into that footage pool, nabbing whatever scenes are desired to fit their current excuse for a plotline. Slap some oddly translated Japanese-to-English translated title on the box and you're good to go. Even better if you can divide your sexual travesty into several episodes.
I could understand having a tissue-thin story line or premise if the sex scenes were blocked out and executed with any care. However, they aren't. Not only does the video suddenly shift over to "plotline over; sex now" between one frame and the next, but it will progress with a formula so rigid that it makes gonzo scenes look as varied as the forms of Darwin's finches. And even at that, if someone was hoping to get themselves off, they'd have to be moving at a good clip. If porn scenes using live actors can progress through at least four poses not including oral prodding, you'd think that something that is purely rendered could be paced to suit even the most prodigious of staminas.
And since anime is a very consistent style, and it all seems to be done by the same artists, you don't even have the option of having a particular body type that trips your trigger. The bodies will, with only the most superficial at most variation, be the same type.
So I fail to understand why the genre is so popular.
